Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Unplug the Genius USB Mouse, close other mouse utilities, and run the driver installer as administrator. If setup still fails, reboot and let Windows use its built-in HID-compliant mouse driver, then retry.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the mouse directly to a rear USB port, not a hub. In Device Manager, check for unknown/USB errors, uninstall the affected entry, replug the mouse, and rescan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Genius mouse software and any duplicate HID mouse entries first. Reboot, reconnect the mouse, then install the latest Genius driver—or keep Windows’ signed HID driver if basic functions work.
