Author: Genius

Question 1

Installer fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Genius setup as Administrator in compatibility mode for the driver’s target Windows version. If Windows blocks the unsigned driver, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then install manually via Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers > Update driver > Browse.

Question 2

Card not detected?

Accepted Answer

Power off, reseat the PCI card, and try another slot. Check Device Manager for an Unknown device; disable onboard audio in BIOS to avoid resource conflicts.

Question 3

Version/driver conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any previous Sound Maker/C-Media driver and Genius software, choose “Delete the driver software,” reboot, then install the correct 32/64-bit package. Don’t mix generic C-Media and Genius drivers.
