Question 1

Installer fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Genius setup as administrator, pause antivirus temporarily, and disconnect other USB cameras. If it still fails, uninstall existing webcam drivers in Device Manager (View > Show hidden devices), reboot, and retry.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the ILook 300 directly to a rear motherboard USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for Unknown USB Device or Imaging devices, uninstall the entry, reconnect, and let Windows re-detect it. Enable Camera privacy access.

Question 3

Version conflicts after Windows Update?

Accepted Answer

In Device Manager > Imaging devices > Genius ILook 300 > Properties > Driver, use Roll Back Driver. If unavailable, uninstall the driver, restart, and install the Genius package matching your Windows version.
