Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Genius setup as Administrator in Windows compatibility mode for the OS version the driver was released for. Disconnect the scanner until setup asks for it, and disable antivirus temporarily if it blocks the legacy installer.

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager under Imaging devices for unknown devices. Use a direct USB 2.0 port rather than a hub, try a different cable, and power-cycle the scanner. Reinstall the TWAIN/WIA driver after removing any failed entries.

Question 3

Driver or version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Genius ColorPage/TWAIN drivers and restart before installing the new package. Match 32-bit or 64-bit Windows, and avoid mixing WIA and TWAIN installs. If scanning apps still fail, remove stale TWAIN entries and reinstall once.
