Author: Gateway

Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

The Gateway FPD2485W is a monitor, so use the correct Windows display INF for your OS version. Run the installer as administrator, or update manually via Device Manager > Monitors > Generic PnP Monitor > Update driver > Browse.

Question 2

Monitor not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the DVI/VGA cable and confirm the correct input is selected on the FPD2485W. Try another cable/port, then in Device Manager select Action > Scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Windows may keep the generic monitor driver or an old Gateway profile. Uninstall the existing monitor entry, reconnect the display, and rescan; if resolution/color issues persist, reinstall or roll back the graphics card driver.
