The Epson TM T20 driver enables Windows to communicate with your Epson receipt printer, allowing compatible point-of-sale applications to send print jobs correctly. For a network-connected setup, the appropriate driver and printer port settings help route receipts to the right device. Before downloading, confirm that the package supports your printer’s connection type and your version of Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7.
Key Features
- Windows printing support: Makes the Epson TM T20 available to compatible software through the Windows printing system.
- Network port configuration: Works with an appropriately configured printer port to send jobs over a local network when the printer has an Ethernet interface.
- Receipt layout settings: Provides access to supported printing preferences, such as paper width and orientation, to help keep receipt text and totals aligned.
- Printer-specific controls: Depending on the driver package and hardware configuration, offers settings for functions such as paper cutting and cash drawer operation.
How to Install
- Check your printer and Windows version. Verify that you have an Epson TM T20 and identify its connection interface. Check whether your Windows installation is 32-bit or 64-bit, then select a driver package that explicitly supports that configuration.
- Prepare the connection. Turn on the printer and load receipt paper. For an Ethernet-equipped model, connect it to your local network and obtain its IP address using the printer’s network status information. Make sure your computer can reach that network.
- Download and open the installer. Save the matching Epson driver package, extract it if necessary, and run the setup program. Approve the Windows administrator prompt if one appears.
- Select the printer and port. Follow the installation prompts, choose the correct TM T20 model entry, and select the connection method. For network printing, enter the printer’s IP address when prompted or configure the appropriate TCP/IP port in Windows.
- Print a test receipt. Open the printer’s properties in Windows and send a test page, then check receipt output from your POS application. If nothing prints, verify the selected port, network address, and application printer settings before reinstalling.
A successful Windows test print confirms basic communication, but your POS software may still need its own paper-width, cutting, or cash drawer settings adjusted.
Common Issues and Fixes
- Install fails or stops midway: Disconnect the TM-T20, remove older Epson APD/OPOS entries in Devices and Printers, then run the downloaded driver as administrator. Match 32/64-bit Windows and use a direct USB port, not a hub.
- Printer not detected: Confirm power and cable; use a known-good USB/serial cable and port. For serial units, verify COM port and baud/parity settings. Restart the Print Spooler service, then reinstall.
- Version conflicts with OPOS/APD: Uninstall other Epson POS drivers and duplicate TM-T20 queues first; install only the required APD or OPOS package. Reboot and set the TM-T20 as default receipt printer.
