Question 1

Device not detected / no COM port?

Accepted Answer

Confirm you have a genuine CA-42 or DKU-5 cable, connect directly to a USB port, and check Device Manager for unknown devices. Install the matching Nokia cable driver and assign the COM port manually if needed.

Question 2

Driver install fails on newer Windows?

Accepted Answer

Run the Nokia installer as administrator and in compatibility mode for an older Windows version. If blocked by driver signing, temporarily disable signature enforcement or use a signed driver package, then reboot.

Question 3

Version conflicts with Nokia PC Suite?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing Nokia USB/cable drivers and PC Suite, remove hidden devices in Device Manager, reboot, then install only one driver version that matches your cable model.
