The Corex CardScan 700c is a business card scanner used to capture cards for contact-management workflows. Its driver enables Windows to communicate with the scanner so compatible CardScan software can receive scanned images for processing. Before installing on Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7, check that the download supports your operating system and the CardScan software you plan to use.
Key Features
- Scanner-to-PC communication: Provides the device-level connection needed for compatible applications to access the CardScan 700c.
- Image capture support: Allows scanning software to receive card images, which the application can then process into contact information.
- Windows device recognition: Helps Windows identify the connected scanner and associate it with the appropriate driver.
- Support for contact-management workflows: Works alongside compatible CardScan software; text recognition, contact editing, and export options depend on that software rather than the driver alone.
How to Install
- Check your Windows version. Confirm whether your PC runs Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7, and whether it uses a 32-bit or 64-bit system. Choose a driver package that explicitly matches your setup, especially when using this older scanner with a newer version of Windows.
- Prepare the scanner and software. Close any scanning applications. Keep the CardScan 700c disconnected until the installer or accompanying instructions tell you to connect it.
- Download and extract the driver. Save the compatible Corex driver package to a convenient folder. If it is compressed, extract its contents before starting installation, and review any included setup notes.
- Install the driver. Run the supplied setup program and follow the prompts. If the package contains only driver files, open Device Manager, locate the scanner or unidentified device, choose Update driver, and browse to the extracted folder.
- Connect and test. Attach the scanner to a USB port when instructed, then restart Windows if requested. Open compatible CardScan software and scan a sample card to verify that the device is detected and captures an image.
If the scanner is not recognized, try another USB port and inspect its status in Device Manager. Avoid forcing an incompatible driver to install; a successful installation does not necessarily mean the scanning application supports your Windows version.
Common Issues and Fixes
- Installer fails or rolls back: Run the Corex CardScan 700c setup as Administrator and in Windows compatibility mode for an older Windows version. Disconnect the scanner until setup asks for it; legacy unsigned drivers may also require temporarily disabling driver signature enforcement.
- Device not detected: Try a direct USB 2.0 port, not a hub, and a known-good cable. Check Device Manager for an unknown USB device or scanner entry; if present, uninstall it, reboot, then reconnect the CardScan 700c and let the Corex driver install.
- Version conflicts: Remove older CardScan/Corex software and any existing scanner entries in Device Manager, reboot, then install only the matching 700c driver package. Avoid mixing a newer CardScan app with an older Corex driver.
