The Canon iPF710 driver enables Windows to communicate with your Canon imagePROGRAF large-format printer, including when it is connected over a local network. It provides the printing controls needed to prepare technical drawings, posters, and other wide-format documents with the appropriate paper and output settings.

Key Features

  • Network printing support: Allows Windows applications to send print jobs to the Canon iPF710 through a configured network connection.
  • Paper and layout controls: Provides options for selecting media size, orientation, and paper source to suit the document and loaded media.
  • Print quality settings: Lets you adjust available quality and color options for different printing needs, from line drawings to presentation graphics.
  • Windows print integration: Makes the printer accessible through standard print dialogs and gives you access to its preferences from Windows printer settings.

How to Install

  1. Check your Windows version and system type. Before downloading, confirm whether you use Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7 and whether your system is 32-bit or 64-bit. Choose a package that explicitly supports your configuration; legacy printer drivers may not support every listed Windows version.
  2. Prepare the printer connection. Turn on the Canon iPF710 and connect it to your network. Make sure your PC can reach the printer, and note the printer’s IP address if you plan to add it manually.
  3. Download and extract the driver. Save the compatible Canon driver package to your computer. If it is compressed, extract its contents before starting installation.
  4. Run the installer. Open the setup program and approve any Windows permission prompts. Choose the network connection option when offered, then select the detected printer or enter its IP address as instructed.
  5. Confirm the setup. Open Windows printer settings, check the printing preferences, and print a test page. Select the correct paper size and media settings before sending a full-size document.

If the printer is not detected, verify its network connection and IP address before reinstalling. When no driver explicitly supports your Windows release, check Canon’s compatibility guidance rather than assuming an older package will work.

Common Issues and Fixes

  • Installation fails or stops midway: Run the Canon setup as administrator, close other applications, temporarily disable antivirus, and remove any partial iPF710 entry in Devices and Printers/Print Management before retrying. Use the correct 32/64-bit package.
  • Printer not detected: For USB, use a direct rear port and a known-good cable. For network, confirm the iPF710 has a valid IP on the same subnet, ping it, and add a standard TCP/IP port (RAW 9100 or LPR). Power-cycle the printer and router.
  • Driver/version conflicts: Uninstall old Canon iPF drivers and utilities, clear stuck print jobs, delete leftover driver packages in Print Management, reboot, then install the latest Canon package. Avoid mixing the Windows Update generic driver with Canon setup.
