The AVerMedia WDM MPEG 2 TS Capture (DVBT) driver helps Windows communicate with the digital TV capture component of compatible AverMedia tuner hardware. It supports the transfer of DVB-T broadcast transport streams to compatible TV viewing and recording software. For Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7, choose a package that explicitly matches your tuner model and Windows version, as compatibility can vary between hardware revisions.
Key Features
- DVB-T capture interface: Provides the driver-level connection needed for compatible applications to receive digital terrestrial television streams from the tuner.
- MPEG-2 transport stream handling: Enables access to broadcast transport stream data for viewing or recording, depending on the capabilities of your hardware and software.
- Windows device integration: Allows Windows to identify and communicate with the capture component through the Windows Driver Model (WDM).
- Support for compatible TV applications: Supplies a hardware interface that supported TV software can use. Channel scanning, playback controls, and recording options are managed by the application rather than the driver alone.
How to Install
- Identify your tuner and Windows version. Open Device Manager to check the device name. If the tuner appears as an unknown device, inspect its hardware IDs under Properties > Details. Also confirm whether your Windows installation is 32-bit or 64-bit.
- Select a matching driver package. Verify that the download supports your specific AverMedia hardware and operating system. Do not assume an older package will work on Windows 10 or Windows 11 unless that compatibility is stated.
- Prepare the files and hardware. Extract the download if it is compressed, then close any TV viewing or recording programs. Follow any included instructions about when to connect a USB tuner or install an internal card.
- Install the driver. Run the supplied installer and follow its prompts. If the package has no installer, open Device Manager, right-click the relevant device, select Update driver, and choose Browse my computer for drivers to locate the extracted folder.
- Restart and test reception. Restart if prompted, then check Device Manager for warnings. Open a compatible TV application, select the tuner, and scan for channels with a suitable antenna connected.
DVB-T reception also depends on local broadcast availability and antenna signal quality. This driver does not add DVB-T2 support to DVB-T-only hardware.
Common Issues and Fixes
- Install fails or rolls back: Run the AVerMedia setup as administrator, extract the package if the installer stalls, and temporarily disable antivirus. If Windows blocks the driver, install the package in compatibility mode for the Windows version it was built for, then reboot.
- Device not detected: Check Device Manager for “AVerMedia WDM MPEG 2 TS Capture” under Sound, video and game controllers or Other devices. If missing/yellow-bang, rescan hardware and manually update the driver by pointing to the extracted INF. Confirm the DVB-T tuner/BDA device also appears; install the full AVerMedia package, not only the WDM capture driver.
- Version conflicts: Uninstall old AVerMedia TV software and driver, select “Delete the driver software” in Device Manager, reboot, then install one matching package. Do not mix older WDM MPEG-2 TS capture drivers with newer BDA/tuner drivers.
