The ASUS Android ADB Interface driver lets Windows recognize a compatible ASUS Android device for Android Debug Bridge (ADB) communication over USB. It supports development and troubleshooting tasks, such as viewing device logs and testing apps, when used with the Android SDK Platform-Tools. Despite sometimes appearing in a printer category, this interface is for Android connectivity, not printing.

Key Features

  • ADB device recognition: Helps Windows identify the ASUS Android ADB Interface so ADB tools can communicate with a connected, authorized device.
  • App development support: Enables a USB connection for installing test applications, running shell commands, and collecting diagnostic information through ADB.
  • Windows compatibility: Driver packages are available for supported configurations of Windows 11, 10, 8, and 7. Check the specific package for your Windows version, system architecture, and ASUS device model before downloading.
  • Connection troubleshooting: Installing the appropriate driver can resolve a missing or incorrectly identified ADB interface in Device Manager. It does not replace USB debugging settings or device authorization.

How to Install

  1. Choose the correct package. Download an ASUS ADB driver intended for your device and Windows configuration. Extract the archive if necessary, and keep the driver folder accessible.
  1. Prepare your Android device. Enable Developer options, then turn on USB debugging. On many ASUS devices, Developer options become available after tapping Build number repeatedly in the device’s settings.
  1. Connect with a data-capable USB cable. Plug the unlocked device directly into your PC. Avoid charge-only cables; if detection fails, try another USB port or cable.
  1. Install the driver. Run the included installer if provided. Otherwise, open Device Manager, locate the unrecognized Android device or ADB interface, select Update driver, and choose Browse my computer for drivers. Point Windows to the extracted folder and follow the prompts. Do not bypass security warnings for an untrusted package.
  1. Authorize and verify the connection. Accept the USB debugging authorization prompt on the Android device if you trust the computer. With Android SDK Platform-Tools installed, run `adb devices` in a terminal. A listing marked `device` confirms an authorized ADB connection; `unauthorized` means approval is still needed on the device.

ADB access is separate from ordinary USB file transfer. If your goal is simply to copy photos or documents, you may only need to select File transfer mode on the connected device.

Common Issues and Fixes

  • Install fails or shows “driver not found”: Run the ASUS driver package as Administrator, extract it first, then use Device Manager > Update driver > Browse my computer to select the extracted folder. Reboot before retrying; do not install directly from an unextracted ZIP.
  • Device not detected in ADB: Enable Developer options and USB debugging on the ASUS device, use a data-capable cable and a direct USB port, then approve the RSA fingerprint prompt. Check Device Manager for “ASUS Android ADB Interface” and reinstall if it has a warning icon.
  • Version conflicts/Code 10 or 28: Uninstall older ASUS/Google ADB drivers, delete the device in Device Manager with “Delete driver software,” rescan, and install only the current ASUS ADB Interface driver. Do not mix multiple ADB driver packages; reboot after installation.
