The AnywhereUSB Remote Hub driver helps Windows communicate with USB devices connected through a compatible network-based hub rather than a local USB port. For printer use, it provides the connection layer between the remote hub and your PC; the attached printer may also require its own model-specific driver.

Key Features

  • Remote USB connectivity: Allows compatible software on your computer to access supported USB devices attached to the AnywhereUSB Remote Hub over a network.
  • Printer connection support: Helps establish access to a USB printer connected through the hub, while the printer’s own driver handles printing functions and settings.
  • Windows integration: Provides the components needed for Windows to recognize and communicate with the remote USB connection.
  • Connection configuration: Depending on the driver package and hub model, accompanying software may help you discover the hub and manage device connections.

How to Install

  1. Check your model and Windows version. Confirm the exact AnywhereUSB Remote Hub model, then select a manufacturer-provided package compatible with your edition of Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7. Support can vary by hardware generation and driver release, so review the package requirements before downloading.
  2. Prepare the hub and network. Connect the hub to power and your network according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure your PC can reach it, and connect the USB printer or other supported device you intend to use.
  3. Install the driver package. Extract the download if necessary and run the installer with administrator permission. Follow the prompts, including any instructions about when to connect or configure the hub. Restart Windows if requested.
  4. Configure the remote connection. Open the supplied configuration utility, if included, and locate or add the hub using its network details. Establish a connection to the required USB device as directed by the manufacturer.
  5. Install the printer software and test. If you are connecting a printer, install its matching Windows driver when prompted. Check that it appears in Windows printer settings, then print a test page.

If the hub is not detected, check its power, network address, and connection status first. Review firewall requirements rather than disabling security software, and verify that another computer is not already using the remote USB device.

Common Issues and Fixes

  • Install fails or rolls back: Run the installer as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, remove any older AnywhereUSB/RealPort packages, reboot, then reinstall.
  • Hub not detected: Check hub power and network LEDs, confirm the PC and hub can reach each other, allow AnywhereUSB traffic through the firewall, and add the hub by IP in AnywhereUSB Manager/Control Center.
  • Driver/version conflicts: Uninstall the old AnywhereUSB driver and Control Center together, reboot, and install the driver and utility from the same release. Don’t mix old and new versions.
