The Dazzle DVC100 Audio Device driver enables Windows to recognize and communicate with the audio component of your Dazzle USB capture hardware. It helps compatible recording software receive sound from a connected analog source, such as a VCR or camcorder, when you transfer recordings to your PC.

Key Features

  • Audio capture support: Provides the driver interface needed to record incoming sound through the DVC100’s analog audio connections.
  • Windows device recognition: Allows the audio component to appear in Device Manager so you can check its status and troubleshoot detection problems.
  • Recording software integration: Makes the capture device’s audio input available to compatible applications for use alongside video capture.
  • Driver recovery: Reinstalling a suitable driver can help resolve issues caused by missing or damaged driver files. It will not fix faulty cables or incorrect recording settings.

How to Install

  1. Check your Windows version. For Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7, confirm that the download explicitly supports your operating system and system architecture. Older DVC100 driver packages may not support every Windows release.
  2. Download and prepare the package. Save the appropriate Dazzle DVC100 Audio Device driver, extract it if necessary, and close any capture applications.
  3. Install the driver. Run the included installer and follow its instructions, including when to connect the USB device. If no installer is provided, open Device Manager, select the affected device, choose Update driver, and browse to the extracted driver folder.
  4. Reconnect and verify. Restart Windows if prompted, connect the DVC100 directly to an available USB port, and check Device Manager for warning symbols.
  5. Test audio capture. Open your recording application and select the DVC100 audio input where available. Play a short segment from your source and confirm that the recording includes sound.

If video appears but audio is missing, check the source’s audio output, the red and white audio connections, and the input selected in your capture software before reinstalling the driver.

Common Issues and Fixes

  • Install fails or rolls back: Run the Dazzle installer as administrator in compatibility mode for its target Windows version. Temporarily pause antivirus and connect the DVC100 only when prompted. On Windows 10/11, use a signed Dazzle/Pinnacle package instead of an old CD driver.
  • Device not detected: Connect the DVC100 directly to a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub. In Device Manager, check for “Dazzle DVC100 Audio Device” under Sound, video and game controllers; scan for hardware changes and reinstall if it shows a warning icon.
  • Version conflicts/audio missing: Uninstall previous Dazzle/Pinnacle capture software and old driver entries, reboot, then install one driver package only. If video works but audio does not, enable the DVC100 audio device in Sound settings and select it as the capture audio input.
