The Bluetooth HID Joystick driver helps Windows recognize a compatible wireless joystick and interpret its buttons, directional controls, and axis movements. Provided by the manufacturer, the appropriate driver supports communication between the controller and your PC over Bluetooth, allowing compatible games and applications to receive input.

Key Features

  • HID input support: Enables Windows to interpret supported joystick controls through the Human Interface Device standard.
  • Bluetooth connectivity: Works with your computer’s Bluetooth hardware and software to support a wireless controller connection.
  • Windows compatibility: Driver options cover Windows 11, 10, 8, and 7; choose the package that matches your system and specific device.
  • Controller recognition: Helps compatible software detect the joystick and access its available inputs. Button mapping and advanced functions depend on the controller and application.

How to Install

  1. Check your Windows version and device details. Confirm whether your PC runs Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7 and whether it requires a 32-bit or 64-bit package. Match the download to your joystick model or hardware ID rather than relying on the device name alone.
  1. Download the matching driver. Select the manufacturer’s package intended for your device and operating system. Extract the contents first if the download is a compressed archive.
  1. Install the driver files. Run the included setup program and follow its instructions. If the package contains an INF file instead, open Device Manager, locate the relevant device, choose Update driver, and browse to the extracted folder.
  1. Connect the controller. Make sure your PC’s Bluetooth adapter is enabled, then place the joystick in pairing mode according to its manual. Add it through Windows Bluetooth settings and restart the computer if the installer requests it.
  1. Test the available controls. Press Windows + R, enter `joy.cpl`, and open the controller’s properties if it appears. Check button and axis responses, then select or configure the controller in your game.

Some Bluetooth HID Joystick devices use Windows’ built-in HID drivers and do not need a separate manufacturer package. If the joystick will not pair, check its battery level and your PC’s Bluetooth adapter driver first; a joystick driver alone cannot resolve an unavailable Bluetooth connection.

Common Issues and Fixes

  • Install fails or rolls back: Run the manufacturer’s installer as administrator, disconnect the joystick, and remove any older Bluetooth HID Joystick entry in Device Manager (choose Delete the driver software) before reinstalling. Reboot, then pair the joystick.
  • Paired but not detected or no input: Put the joystick in pairing mode, remove its stale Bluetooth pairing, and re-pair. In Device Manager, check Human Interface Devices for the joystick or an unknown HID device; update that entry and confirm Bluetooth Support Service is running.
  • Version conflicts or duplicate devices: Uninstall old vendor utilities and duplicate HID Joystick entries, install the latest driver for your Windows version and architecture, then restart. If Windows Update replaces it, roll back to the manufacturer driver.
