The Bluetooth ACPI driver helps Windows communicate with the system’s ACPI interface associated with Bluetooth hardware, including power and device-state controls. Installing the correct package from the manufacturer may resolve an unrecognized Bluetooth ACPI entry in Device Manager and support normal Bluetooth operation alongside the adapter’s main driver.
Key Features
- ACPI device recognition: Provides the information Windows needs to identify and work with the Bluetooth-related ACPI component.
- Power-management support: Helps coordinate Bluetooth hardware states when the computer starts, sleeps, or resumes, depending on the system’s design.
- System integration: Works with the computer’s firmware and related drivers to support the onboard Bluetooth hardware. It may not replace the separate Bluetooth adapter driver required for pairing and wireless connections.
- Windows compatibility: Packages may be available for Windows 11, 10, 8, and 7. Support varies by computer model and driver release, so verify compatibility before downloading.
How to Install
- Identify your system and device. Check your computer model and Windows version, including whether the operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit. In Device Manager, open the Bluetooth ACPI device’s Properties and look under Details for its hardware IDs if you need to confirm a match.
- Choose the matching driver. Select the manufacturer’s package intended for your exact model and operating system. Do not assume a Windows 7 or Windows 8 package will work on Windows 10 or Windows 11 unless compatibility is explicitly listed.
- Prepare the download. Save the package locally and extract it if it is compressed. Review any included instructions for prerequisites, such as chipset software or a companion Bluetooth driver.
- Install the package. Run the supplied installer and follow its prompts. If the download contains driver files without an installer, right-click the device in Device Manager, select Update driver, and choose Browse my computer for drivers. Point Windows to the extracted folder.
- Restart and verify. Restart the computer if requested, then check Device Manager for warning symbols. Test Bluetooth availability and, if needed, install the matching Bluetooth adapter driver before attempting to pair accessories.
Common Issues and Fixes
- Install fails or rolls back: Uninstall any existing Bluetooth stack and hidden devices in Device Manager, reboot, then run the manufacturer’s Bluetooth ACPI package as administrator. Ensure chipset/ACPI drivers are current; missing ACPI support can block the INF.
- Device not detected: Check BIOS/UEFI for Bluetooth enabled, turn off Airplane mode/hardware switch, and power-cycle. In Device Manager, uninstall the unknown ACPI device and scan for hardware changes.
- Version conflicts after Windows Update: If Windows replaces the vendor driver and pairing/audio breaks, roll back the driver, then reinstall the matching Bluetooth/Wi-Fi combo package. Set Windows Update to stop auto-replacing the vendor driver.
