The BenQ GL2450 is a monitor, not a graphics card, so its monitor driver helps Windows identify the display rather than providing GPU acceleration. A suitable BenQ driver package may supply monitor identification data and a color profile, while resolution and display output also depend on your graphics driver and connection.

Key Features

  • Monitor identification: Helps Windows recognize the BenQ GL2450 by its model name instead of displaying a generic monitor label.
  • Display configuration information: Provides monitor-specific information that Windows and compatible graphics software can use when configuring the screen.
  • Color profile support: If included in the download, an ICC or ICM profile provides a reference for color-managed applications. It does not replace individual screen calibration.
  • Works alongside your graphics driver: Complements the Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA driver responsible for rendering images and sending the video signal to the monitor.

How to Install

  1. Check your Windows version. Before downloading, confirm whether you use Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7. Choose a package that explicitly supports your operating system and the BenQ GL2450; an older monitor driver is not automatically verified for every newer Windows release.
  1. Download and extract the package. Save the driver to an accessible folder. If it arrives as a ZIP archive, extract its contents before installation. Check any included instructions for compatibility notes.
  1. Open Device Manager. Search for Device Manager from the Start menu, then expand Monitors. Locate the GL2450, which may currently appear as Generic PnP Monitor. If multiple displays are connected, confirm that you are updating the correct one.
  1. Install the monitor driver. Right-click the monitor entry, select Update driver, and choose Browse my computer for drivers. Point Windows to the extracted folder and follow the prompts. If BenQ supplies a dedicated installer instead, follow its instructions.
  1. Verify your display settings. Restart if prompted, then open Windows display settings and check the recommended resolution. The GL2450 has a native resolution of 1920 × 1080; available refresh rates depend on the connection and graphics hardware.

If Windows already identifies the monitor correctly and the picture looks normal, a separate monitor driver may not be necessary. For missing resolutions, flickering, or connection problems, also check the video cable and update the graphics adapter driver.

Common Issues and Fixes

  • Install fails or INF is rejected: Extract the BenQ package first, then use Device Manager > Monitors > Update driver > Browse my computer > Let me pick > Have Disk and point to the GL2450 `.inf`. Run as administrator; if Windows blocks the downloaded file, right-click it > Properties > Unblock.
  • Monitor not detected / shows as Generic PnP Monitor: Reseat the DVI/VGA cable, confirm the GL2450 input source, and try another port or cable. In Device Manager, select Action > Scan for hardware changes. Adapters that drop EDID can prevent the model-specific driver from loading.
  • Version conflicts or Windows Update overwrites the driver: Uninstall the existing monitor driver under Monitors, reboot, then reinstall the BenQ package manually. Check the driver version in Device Manager and avoid mixing older BenQ packages with Windows-supplied monitor drivers.
