Name: ZyXEL G 220 v2 Wireless USB Adapter Driver
Author: Zyxel

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the ZyXEL G-220 v2 setup as Administrator and try Windows 7 compatibility mode. Temporarily disable antivirus. If Windows blocks the legacy unsigned driver, use manual “Update driver > Browse” or the driver-signature override, then reboot.

Question 2

Adapter not detected?

Accepted Answer

Plug the G-220 v2 directly into a USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for “Unknown device” or Network adapters, uninstall it with “Delete driver software,” replug, and rescan. Confirm the adapter LED is on.

Question 3

Version or utility conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove any old ZyXEL Wi-Fi utility and previous G-220/v1 driver, reboot, then install the correct v2 package. Avoid running ZyXEL’s utility and Windows WLAN AutoConfig together; use one. Roll back in Device Manager if a newer driver breaks connectivity.
