Name: ZWO ASI120MC S Camera Driver
Author: ZWO

Question 1

Driver install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older ZWO ASI drivers/ASICap first, reboot, then run the latest manufacturer installer as administrator. Temporarily disable antivirus and connect the ASI120MC-S only after installation finishes.

Question 2

Camera not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB 3.0 port and a known-good cable—avoid hubs. Check Device Manager for unknown USB devices, close ASICap/SharpCap/PHD2 so no app is holding the camera, then reinstall the ASI driver and test in ASICap.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Mismatched ASCOM platform/ZWO ASCOM driver versions or duplicate ASI SDK DLLs can cause connection errors. Update ASCOM and the ZWO ASCOM driver, remove old DLL copies, keep one ASI SDK version, and reboot.
