Name: ZTE WCDMA Technologies MSM Driver
Author: ZTE

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Use the ZTE package matching your Windows version and x86/x64 architecture; run it as administrator. If Windows blocks an older unsigned/signed driver, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then reinstall. Remove any previous ZTE/Qualcomm WWAN driver first and reboot.

Question 2

Device not detected (no COM port/network adapter)?

Accepted Answer

Try another USB port/cable. In Device Manager, check for an unknown “ZTE WCDMA Technologies MSM” or “Data Interface.” Uninstall the device, unplug/replug, and let Windows install the modem/composite driver. Ensure the modem is not in mass-storage/CD-ROM mode.

Question 3

Version conflicts / repeated reconnect?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old ZTE USB modem and Mobile Broadband drivers via Apps/Device Manager, delete leftover entries, reboot, then install one official driver version. Avoid mixing vendor and Windows generic WWAN drivers.
