Name: ZTE NMEA Device Driver
Author: ZTE

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the ZTE driver installer as administrator and match your Windows architecture. Remove older ZTE USB modem/serial driver packages first, reboot, then reinstall; unsigned or corrupted packages can block the virtual COM port driver.

Question 2

Device not detected or no NMEA data?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the ZTE device shows a COM port under Device Manager > Ports. Try another USB port/cable, update the driver manually, and select that COM port in your GPS/NMEA software. Check the correct baud rate, often 4800 or 9600.

Question 3

Version or COM port conflict?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall duplicate ZTE drivers and stale virtual COM ports, reboot, and let Windows reassign. If another modem driver claims the device, remove it and reinstall the NMEA-specific driver.
