Name: ZTE Handset Diagnostic Interface (DFU) (COM23) Driver
Author: ZTE

Question 1

Install fails or shows an unsigned driver error?

Accepted Answer

Run the ZTE driver installer as administrator. If Windows blocks it, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, install the ZTE USB/Diagnostic driver, then reboot. Avoid generic Qualcomm/ADB drivers.

Question 2

Device not detected / no COM23?

Accepted Answer

Use a data-capable USB cable and a direct USB 2.0 port—no hub. Put the handset in DFU/diagnostic mode, then check Device Manager for “ZTE Handset Diagnostic Interface (DFU)” or an unknown device. Manually update the driver and confirm the assigned COM port.

Question 3

Version or COM port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older ZTE/Qualcomm diagnostic drivers, remove hidden devices, reboot, and install one current ZTE driver package. If COM23 is occupied or changes, free the port or update the tool’s COM setting; avoid overlapping driver installs.
