Author: ZTE

Question 1

Install fails or shows a yellow warning?

Accepted Answer

Run the ZTE driver package as administrator, then install the matching 32/64-bit INF manually via Device Manager > Update driver > Browse. Reboot before retesting.

Question 2

Device not detected / no COM5?

Accepted Answer

Use a data-capable USB cable and a direct port; enable USB debugging or diagnostic mode on the handset if required. In Device Manager, check Ports (COM & LPT), remove any unknown ZTE device, then scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Version or COM-port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older ZTE/serial diagnostic drivers and hidden COM devices, reboot, and reconnect. If COM5 is already assigned, change it under Port Settings > Advanced in Device Manager.
