The Acer AL1502 LCD Monitor driver helps Windows identify the display and use the monitor information supplied by Acer. Unlike a graphics card driver, a monitor driver typically provides identification and supported display-mode details rather than adding GPU features. Before downloading, check that the package explicitly supports your version of Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7.
Key Features
- Monitor identification: A compatible driver can replace a generic monitor listing with the Acer AL1502 model name in Device Manager.
- Display-mode information: Supplies monitor-specific details that help Windows and the graphics driver select supported resolutions and refresh rates.
- Display configuration support: Helps keep the monitor correctly identified when setting up a desktop, reconnecting the display, or troubleshooting detection issues.
- Complements your graphics driver: Works alongside the GPU driver; it does not replace the Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA software responsible for rendering and video output.
How to Install
- Check compatibility before downloading. Review the driver package’s supported operating systems and installation notes. Do not assume an older Acer monitor driver will install on Windows 11 or Windows 10 simply because the monitor itself works.
- Download and extract the package. Save the compatible Acer AL1502 driver to a convenient folder. If it comes in a compressed archive, extract its contents before continuing.
- Open Device Manager. Search for Device Manager from the Start menu, expand Monitors, and locate the connected display. It may appear as a generic monitor until the Acer information is installed.
- Install the monitor driver. Right-click the appropriate monitor entry, choose Update driver, then select Browse my computer for drivers. Point Windows to the extracted folder and follow the prompts. If the package includes an installer, follow Acer’s supplied instructions instead.
- Verify the display settings. Restart if prompted, then check the monitor entry and open Windows display settings. Choose a resolution and refresh rate supported by the AL1502 rather than forcing an unsupported mode.
If Windows reports that the best driver is already installed, the monitor may already be working correctly with its built-in support. For flickering, missing resolutions, or a blank screen, also check the display cable, connection, and graphics card driver. A monitor driver alone will not resolve every display problem.
Common Issues and Fixes
- Install fails or driver won’t load: The AL1502 package is an older monitor INF/color profile, not a GPU driver. Use Device Manager → Monitors → Update driver → Browse → Let me pick → Have Disk, and point to the extracted INF. Run as administrator and avoid Compatibility Mode unless required.
- Monitor not detected: Confirm power, input source, and VGA/DVI cable. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes. If it appears only as “Generic PnP Monitor,” Windows may not have read the EDID; try another cable/port and install the INF manually.
- Version conflicts: Uninstall any existing Acer/Generic monitor driver, check “Delete the driver software,” reboot, then install the correct Windows-version package. Don’t force a mismatched INF; roll back if colors or resolution break.
