Question 1

Install fails or driver is unsigned?

Accepted Answer

Unplug the ZS U2102 adapter, run the installer as administrator, and reboot before reconnecting. If Windows blocks the legacy USB-to-SATA/IDE driver, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, install, then re-enable it.

Question 2

Drive/adapter not detected?

Accepted Answer

For 3.5-inch IDE/SATA drives, connect the 12 V power adapter and set IDE jumpers to Master (or Slave if required). Use a rear USB port directly, not a hub, and test with another cable or drive.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove older USB-SATA/IDE drivers (JMicron/Prolific/Sunplus) and hidden USB mass-storage entries in Device Manager, reboot, then install the ZS U2102 package matching your Windows version.
