Question 1

Device not detected over USB?

Accepted Answer

Install the ZK Software USB driver before plugging in the ZK7000. Use a rear USB port and a known-good cable; check Device Manager for an unknown device or assigned COM port.

Question 2

Driver install fails or is blocked?

Accepted Answer

Run the installer as administrator. If Windows blocks an unsigned driver, remove any older ZK driver, reboot, and temporarily disable driver signature enforcement during installation.

Question 3

Version conflicts or communication errors?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall previous ZKSoftware drivers and attendance software, reboot, then install the matching 32/64-bit driver and software version. Confirm the correct COM port is selected in the ZK7000 software.
