Question 1

Driver install fails on Windows 10/11?

Accepted Answer

Old ZK USB-serial drivers may be unsigned or blocked. Run the installer as administrator, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement if required, and reboot before connecting the ZK4000/5000/6000/7000/8000 terminal.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the terminal is powered and set to USB (or RS232/RS485) communication, try a direct rear USB port and known-good cable, then check Device Manager for a COM port or unknown device. Reconnect after driver install.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall previous ZK drivers and attendance software, delete stale COM-port entries, reboot, then install the driver matching your Windows version and 32/64-bit architecture. Avoid mixing old and new ZK driver packages.
