Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Run the ZK USB driver installer as administrator and use Windows compatibility mode if needed. Disable antivirus temporarily, and avoid unsigned/older installers; install the ZK driver matching your Windows 32/64-bit version.

Question 2

X628 terminal not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect directly to a rear USB port, not a hub, and try a known-good cable. Check Device Manager for “Unknown Device” or COM port issues, then update/reinstall the ZK USB driver and confirm the correct COM port in the attendance software.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall previous ZK drivers, SDKs, and attendance software before installing the X628-compatible driver. Reboot, then install one matching driver version only; mixing old ZK drivers often causes communication or COM-port errors.
