Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the ZK driver installer as Administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and allow any driver prompt. Reboot before retrying; avoid installing from a network share.

Question 2

F18 fingerprint terminal not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct rear USB port and a known-good data cable, not a charge-only cable. In Device Manager, check for an unknown USB device or COM port, then point it to the ZK driver and reconnect.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older ZKSoftware/ZK attendance drivers and remove stale COM ports in Device Manager. Install one driver version matching your Windows architecture, reboot, then reconnect the F18.
