Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Zebra ZP 500 driver installer as administrator. If Windows blocks it, temporarily disable antivirus, remove any partial Zebra printer entry, reboot, then reinstall.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB port instead of a hub. In Device Manager, check for an unknown Zebra device; if Windows installed a generic driver, uninstall the ZP 500 queue and driver, reconnect the printer, and install the official Zebra driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts or wrong label output?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Zebra drivers/queues via Print Management and Driver Store. Install the ZP 500 driver cleanly, then use Zebra Setup Utilities to set media size and calibrate the label printer.
