Author: Zebra

Question 1

Install fails or printer not listed?

Accepted Answer

Download the correct ZDesigner/Windows driver for your Windows version and architecture, run the installer as administrator, and use Zebra Setup Utilities. For older S4M units, try compatibility mode if Windows blocks the package.

Question 2

S4M not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the active interface (USB, serial, parallel, or Ethernet), reseat the cable, power-cycle the printer, and select the matching port/queue. For serial/parallel connections, verify port settings and avoid unreliable USB-to-serial adapters.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Zebra print queues and drivers in Print Management, restart the Print Spooler, then install one S4M driver version. Avoid mixing 32-bit and 64-bit Zebra drivers on the same PC.
