Question 1

Install fails or driver is blocked?

Accepted Answer

Download the Zebra P420i driver package for your exact Windows version and bitness, run it as administrator, and allow the Zebra installer through antivirus. Remove older Zebra card-printer drivers via Print Server Properties before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Power-cycle the P420i, try a different USB cable/port, and check Device Manager for an unknown device. If Windows asks for a driver during connection, cancel and install the Zebra package first.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate queues?

Accepted Answer

Delete old P420i printer queues and leftover Zebra drivers in Print Management, then install only one driver version. After major Windows updates, reinstall the same Zebra package and set the P420i as default.
