Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the Yamaha USB MIDI device, uninstall any existing Yamaha USB-MIDI driver in Apps & features, remove leftover entries in Device Manager, then run the downloaded installer as administrator and reboot before reconnecting.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB port (avoid unpowered hubs), try another cable/port, and check Device Manager for “Yamaha USB-MIDI.” Power-cycle the MIDI keyboard/interface and confirm it is not in a storage/update mode.

Question 3

Version conflicts or missing MIDI port?

Accepted Answer

Remove older Yamaha USB-MIDI driver versions before installing the current WDM package; do not stack installers. After reboot, open your DAW and select the Yamaha USB-MIDI input/output ports. If ports are missing, reinstall and reboot again.
