Name: X10 USB Wireless Transceiver ACPI Compliant Driver
Author: X10

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the manufacturer’s X10 transceiver installer as administrator and match Windows architecture. Disconnect the USB transceiver during setup, then plug it in when prompted. Remove previous X10/USB-serial entries in Device Manager first.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a directly connected USB 2.0 port, not a hub. In Device Manager, check for unknown USB/ACPI entries, uninstall them, and rescan. Disable USB selective suspend for the transceiver’s power-management tab.

Question 3

Version conflicts/COM port errors?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older X10 drivers and stale COM ports, reboot, then install only the latest package. If Windows assigns a generic HID or serial driver, manually update to the manufacturer’s transceiver driver.
