Question 1

Installer fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Close World of Warcraft and any SteelSeries/legacy mouse software, then run the driver installer as administrator. If it still fails, uninstall older SteelSeries Engine versions and reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Mouse not detected?

Accepted Answer

Plug the MMO mouse directly into a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub or front-panel port. Check Device Manager for unknown devices, then reconnect and reinstall the driver. Test side-button response in the mouse software before launching WoW.

Question 3

Version conflicts or lost button profiles?

Accepted Answer

Remove old driver/SteelSeries Engine entries, reboot, and install only the latest package compatible with this mouse. Reassign MMO side buttons and WoW profiles after updating; avoid mixing legacy and current software.
