Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the WeP HQ1070DX driver setup as administrator, unblock the downloaded file, and close any pending print jobs. If Windows blocks the legacy dot-matrix driver, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, install, then re-enable it.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Power on the HQ1070DX before opening Devices and Printers. For USB, try a rear port and confirm a USB001 port appears; for parallel, check LPT1 and cable seating. Restart the Print Spooler service after reconnecting.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old WeP/Wipro HQ1070DX queues and drivers in Print Management, then install the correct 32-bit or 64-bit package. Don’t mix a generic text driver with the WeP driver; set the HQ1070DX as default and retest.
