Name: Wacom PTZ 431W Driver
Author: Wacom

Question 1

Installer fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the PTZ-431W, run the Wacom installer as administrator, and temporarily disable antivirus. Remove older Wacom entries in Apps & Features, reboot, then use an Intuos3-compatible driver—not a current Intuos/Bamboo package.

Question 2

Tablet not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try another USB port and cable directly, not through a hub. Check Device Manager for unknown USB devices, then reinstall the driver and connect the tablet only when prompted. Verify the tablet LED and test pen input in Wacom Tablet Properties.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall other Wacom drivers (Bamboo, Intuos, One) and clear leftover Wacom folders before installing the single legacy driver for the PTZ-431W. Avoid Windows Update’s generic driver and ensure the Wacom service starts automatically.
