Question 1

Install fails or Windows blocks the driver?

Accepted Answer

Use the latest WCH CH341SER/CH340 driver, run the installer as administrator, and temporarily disable driver signature enforcement if Windows rejects it. Reboot afterward.

Question 2

Device not detected / no COM port?

Accepted Answer

Try another USB cable and port, preferably USB 2.0. Check Device Manager for “Unknown device” or “USB-SERIAL CH340,” then reinstall the driver with the CH340G adapter plugged in.

Question 3

Version conflicts / old driver persists?

Accepted Answer

In Device Manager, uninstall the CH340/CH341 device and select “Delete the driver software.” Disconnect, reboot, then install only the current WCH driver. Avoid mixing older CH341SER and CH340 packages.
