Name: Vimicro USB Camera (Altair) Driver
Author: Vimicro

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

The Altair package may be old or blocked on Windows 10/11. Run the installer as administrator in compatibility mode, reboot, then check Device Manager under Imaging devices or Cameras.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a direct USB 2.0 port instead of a hub, and test another cable. In Device Manager, remove any unknown/broken camera entry, then scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Windows Update or an older Vimicro driver may override the package. Uninstall all existing Vimicro/USB camera drivers, reboot, and install the matching Altair driver; verify the hardware ID before downloading.
