Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

The ViewSonic monitor INF may be blocked if unsigned or not fully extracted. Extract the download completely, then open Device Manager > Monitors > ViewSonic VP2290B, choose Update driver > Browse my computer, and point to the folder containing the `.inf`. Reboot afterward.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Windows may list only “Generic PnP Monitor.” Confirm the video cable is fully seated and the correct input is selected on the monitor; try another cable/port. In Device Manager, use Action > Scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

An older ViewSonic or generic monitor driver can override the new one. Uninstall the existing monitor entry—not the graphics card—tick “Delete the driver software,” reboot, then reinstall the correct VP2290B package. Avoid drivers for similar VP models.
