Author: ViewSonic

Question 1

Driver install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Confirm you downloaded the package for the VG2230wm Series and matching Windows architecture. Run the installer as administrator, or use Device Manager > Monitors > Update driver > Browse to the extracted INF. If Windows says the best driver is already installed, the Generic PnP Monitor driver may be sufficient.

Question 2

Monitor not detected / shows as Generic PnP Monitor?

Accepted Answer

Check power, select the correct VGA/DVI input, reseat the cable, and try another port or cable. In Device Manager, use Action > Scan for hardware changes, then reboot with the monitor connected.

Question 3

Version or color-profile conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old ViewSonic monitor entries and ICM profiles in Device Manager and Color Management, reboot, then reinstall. If resolution or colors break after an update, use Device Manager to roll back the monitor driver.
