Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing UTAX LP 3230/LP 4230 or generic printer entry, reboot, then run the driver installer as administrator. Disconnect the USB cable until setup prompts for it.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

For USB, try a direct rear-port connection and a known-good cable. For network models, confirm the printer’s IP address, set the correct TCP/IP port, and ensure the printer is online on the same subnet.

Question 3

Driver version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older LP 3230/LP 4230 drivers and delete the printer queue before installing the matching Windows x64/x86 package. Avoid mixing Windows generic drivers with the UTAX driver.
