Question 1

Install fails or setup stops?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing UTAX/Kyocera driver for the CD 5240/DC 6240, run the downloaded package as administrator, and allow the driver through Windows SmartScreen/Defender if prompted.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

For USB, use a direct rear-port connection and a known-good cable. For network, confirm the copier’s IP address and that port 9100 is reachable, then add the printer manually by IP.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate queues?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older UTAX CD 5240/DC 6240 entries in Printers & scanners and the Driver Store, reboot, then install only the matching 32/64-bit driver package.
