Name: UTAX CD 1018 DC 2018 KX Driver
Author: UTAX

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing UTAX/Kyocera printer entry and old driver via Print Management, then run the CD 1018/DC 2018 KX installer as administrator. Reboot and retry with the correct Windows architecture package.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

For USB, try a direct rear port and reinstall after connecting. For network, confirm the printer IP responds to ping, create a TCP/IP port manually, and avoid WSD detection.

Question 3

Driver version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Windows may assign a generic UTAX driver. Delete the queue, clear the print spooler, install the vendor-signed KX package, and set it as default.
