Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the USB2CAN, run the installer as administrator, and allow the vendor-signed driver if Windows SmartScreen prompts. Restart before reconnecting the device.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB 2.0 port and a known-good cable; avoid unpowered hubs. In Device Manager, check for “Unknown device” or USB2CAN under USB/COM ports, then reinstall the driver and rescan hardware.

Question 3

Version conflicts / CAN tool cannot connect?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older USB2CAN drivers and vendor utilities, reboot, and install only the latest matching package. Confirm the CAN software selects the correct USB2CAN channel and bitrate; mixed driver versions can cause “device busy” or initialization errors.
