Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Use the latest signed USBXpress driver package from the manufacturer. Run the installer as administrator, close apps using the device, uninstall older USBXpress/CP210x packages, reboot, then reinstall.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for an unknown device or error. Try a different USB port/cable, avoid unpowered hubs, and manually update the driver by pointing to the USBXpress INF. Confirm the device’s VID/PID is listed in the INF.

Question 3

Version conflicts/Code 10, 28, or 52?

Accepted Answer

Remove existing Silicon Labs USBXpress and CP210x driver entries, including hidden devices, then reinstall only the matching driver version. Reboot before testing; don’t mix packages from different projects.
