Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the U55X, run the installer as administrator, and temporarily disable antivirus. If Windows blocks the package, use the driver version matching your OS and USB port type, then reboot before reconnecting.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct rear USB port instead of a hub, swap the USB cable, and check Device Manager under “Sound, video and game controllers” or “Unknown devices.” Reinstall the driver if the U55X shows a warning icon.

Question 3

Version conflicts / no sound?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old U55X and duplicate USB Audio Device entries in Device Manager with “Show hidden devices,” reboot, then install the latest manufacturer package. Set the U55X as default playback/recording device and disable audio enhancements.
