Author: UMAX

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the UMAX 4100 first, run the setup as administrator, and try Windows compatibility mode for your OS version. Reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect directly to a rear USB 2.0 port—avoid hubs. Check the cable/power, look for an unknown USB device in Device Manager, then reinstall the driver and restart.

Question 3

Driver/TWAIN version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older UMAX scanner software and duplicate TWAIN/WIA entries, remove stale scanner devices in Device Manager, then install the driver package matching your Windows architecture (32/64-bit) and reboot.
