Name: Tyan Ciprico RAIDCore RC5000 Controller Driver
Author: Tyan

Question 1

Install fails or setup cannot find disks?

Accepted Answer

Windows Setup may lack the RC5000 storage driver. Load the correct Tyan/RAIDCore RC5000 driver during setup (Load Driver/F6), matching 32-bit or 64-bit Windows; verify the controller BIOS sees configured arrays first.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the controller in a supported PCI/PCI-X slot, enable the RAIDCore option ROM in BIOS, confirm drives are configured in the controller BIOS, then rescan Device Manager. Check cabling/backplane and termination.

Question 3

Version conflicts/BSOD after update?

Accepted Answer

Remove any old Ciprico/RAIDCore driver, install the Tyan-specific RC5000 package, and avoid mixing generic RC5000 drivers. If boot fails, use Last Known Good or roll back the storage driver.
