Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any older TVS scanner entries in Device Manager, reboot, then run the HD 745 installer as administrator. Connect directly to a USB 2.0 port—avoid unpowered hubs.

Question 2

Device not detected / no scan input?

Accepted Answer

Check that the HD 745 is in USB HID keyboard mode (or the correct COM mode for your setup). Test scanning into Notepad; if nothing appears, reseat the cable, try another port, and check Device Manager for an unknown USB device.

Question 3

Version or COM-port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old TVS drivers and stale COM-port assignments before installing the matching HD 745 package. In your POS software, select the same COM port the scanner is using, and don’t run two scanner utilities at once.
