Name: TSSTcorp DVD RW SH 216BB ATA Device Driver
Author: TSST

Question 1

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data/power cables and BIOS detection. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes; if Code 39/41 appears, remove stale upper/lower filter entries or uninstall the device and reboot so Windows reinstalls its native optical driver.

Question 2

Install fails?

Accepted Answer

Run the package as administrator and in compatibility mode for your Windows version. Because Windows already includes an optical-drive driver, don’t force a generic installer; try Windows Update or the built-in driver first.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older TSST/Samsung optical drivers and remove duplicate entries under DVD/CD-ROM drives, then reboot. Only apply TSST firmware/driver updates matching SH-216BB; avoid “universal” updaters.
